Early Trade Deadline News

Surprise, surprise. Nothing's happened yet.

I won't be able to follow the Trade Deadline "frenzy" as I'll be in class and studying all day but here are some Senators-related news to pass your way. I've been following along with SI favourite Jay Onrait's TradeCentre 08 blog because when nothing is happening, he can at least make it entertaining.

TSN Ottawa correspondent Brent Wallace is reporting that a coaching change for Ottawa is imminent as a source says that John Paddock has officially lost the room. Well, duh. TSN also pointed out that within the last year, three players asked to be moved out of Ottawa (Emery, Gerber and Corvo). Please let it happen sooner or later, Bryan. I just don't know how much more of this I can take.

And I don't always like Pierre McGuire but he had a nice zinger about Joe Corvo on TSN's TradeCentre this morning:
"You stunk in Ottawa this year Joe Corvo! Go whine in Carolina!"

Paddock? Gone? I'll be even more excited than when Corvo left :D Of course I shouldn't get ahead of myself until Murray finally goes through with it, and he'd better... After that debacle last night he owes my lungs* and I at least that much.

*After 8 years of living in California, I can't handle smoking in bars anymore.

I've got 48 papers to mark, the TV on, and the laptop beside me. Bring on the deals!

At this point, I don't even know who has a higher trade value, Emery or Gerber. A question to ponder for the next couple minutes...

I'm guessing from a character perspective that Gerber is worth more all else being equal. He is clearly a better teammate.

If the Wild trade PMB, I will shit bricks and throw them at Risebrough.

I love TSN for keeping me updated during lab, though.

Nick, smoking in bars still allowed down there? Man, I'm uninformed. (Psst, smoking's bad for you).

Dare, you have no idea how hard it was for me yesterday having to study for my mid-term and being tempted not to run to the nearest computer.

Blitzen, except when he's giving Anton the hair eyeball I guess.

Kirsten, you're safe! It's good! And God bless TSN.

I don't think they do up in DC, but I'm down in North Carolina for work for a couple of weeks. Let's just say the area's not called Tobacco Road for nothing.

Oh, just to avoid confusion I wasn't the one smoking. It was the two dudes sitting on either side of me. That's right, it was smoking... in stereo!

You know, I never thought to wonder why it was called that. Now I know! Must be nice weather there though. (I've never really been anywhere south except Florida).

Second-hand smoke is even worse for you!

Yeah, this is a huge tobacco producing region. The weather's actually been pretty schizophrenic the last couple of weeks. One day it's in the 40's the next it's up to almost 70 with a thunderstorms. Go figure. I can't complain though because it beats the hell out of freezing my ass off up north!

Second-hand smoke is even worse for you!

I know :( I was willing to put up with it to watch the Sens, but given the outcome of the game and the upset stomach I got from the smoke I'm not so sure that I made the right choice.
