As you all know by now, this year's NHL Entry Draft is taking place at Scotiabank Place and the tickets are now available to the general public. I'm not sure if there are still any left but I have two (2) extra tickets should anybody require it.
Ben at Sens Army has taken the initiative to organize a Blogger Convention. It's taking place on Saturday, June 21st at McLaren's on Elgin St. (I've only been there once but it's one of my favourites) and while the description says it's for Ottawa Senators Bloggers, I'm sure other bloggers are invited as well (except for maybe the Leafs bloggers).
I know I promised to have information up about a blogger meet-up but unfortunately I've been a really bad combination of both busy and lazy. I'm thinking if it suits everybody, perhaps we could have an impromptu meet-up after Round 1 on Friday night for some drinks. Round 1 starts at 7 p.m. and should end at around 8 or 9 p.m. Rounds 2 to 7 begins at 10 a.m. and will go until around 2 p.m.
Since draft weekend is coming up soon, I'll have some general touristy information related to Ottawa up in a couple of weeks for you guys. I'll be gallivanting around Los Angeles from the 2nd until the 6th so posting will probably be suspended until then. In the meantime, the Ottawa Tourism website should have all the information that you need.

I have to work 9-5 M-F, so I'm dog tired on the weekends...I guess that means I probably won't make it at this time, but I hope you have a ball and have a drink for me.
"(except for maybe the Leafs bloggers)."
Ouch, very ouch, I am so tempted to crash that party.
I wish I could make it. I miss Ottawa very much.
The bloggers convention IS your draft party Sherry, if you want to make it Friday, that's cool with me.
Kirsten, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'll drink TWO drinks for you.
Jared, don't be silly of course you're invited
Chanuck, We wish you could make it too! and I'm sure Ottawa misses you as well.
Ben, I had no idea! Thanks for doing all the planning. There's nothing wrong with having TWO parties.
You've gotta know by now Sherry, silly is what I do best.
Hey Sherry, I got my draft passes today! Drinks sound fun. And I was just wondering if you know of any hotels close to the arena? If you don't off the top of your head, don't worry, I can google it.
Sheerrrrrrrrrrry! McLaren's is awesome. Good place. Great food. Better beer ;-) We may stop by.. if not you should let us take you out for a drink
I'm sorry! I'm really sad that I can't come up and join the fun. :( I appreciate your drinking on my behalf. Sometime soon I'll make my way to eastern Ontario and we'll definitely have to meet up for drinks.
With heavy heart I must revoke my RSVP, my stupid friend decided to have his stupid bachelor party on that exact date. The jerk. As A groomsman I cannot decline by male law.
Stupid jerk and his strippers.
Jared, after all that hard work (read: none) securing a spot for you? You disappoint me.
Alix, I'm not too sure of hotels near the arena as most of the hotels I know of are in downtown Ottawa but the two that are closest that come to mind is Brookstreet and Minto Suites.
PaV, for sure! I'm not one to say no to drinks.
