We've had a couple of Red Herrings before, but a story went up late on Thursday night that the Sault Star in Sault Ste. Marie is reporting that Craig Hartsburg will be introduced as the new Senators head coach on Friday. The report also says that Hartsburg met with owner Eugene Melnyk today and that Melnyk and Peter DeBoer were not able to come to an agreement.
When contacted by the Star, Hartsburg would not confirm or deny the report but did discuss the Senators on ice potential.
"It's a good team that needs some structure and some accountability," Hartsburg told the Sault Star. "And if it gets that, then it should be a good hockey club."
Right now it's still an unconfirmed story so I guess we'll just have to wait and see until the announcement comes.
