- Ted Nolan has been fired by the Islanders due to a "difference in philosophies". You know, Nolan's philosophy was that he wanted to work for an organization that wasn't completely bonkers and that just wasn't cool with Garth Snow.
- Ray Emery will be on Off the Record this afternoon with Michael Landsberg. Ray's actually a frequent guest on OTR, and his previous appearances on the show have been entertaining (well, when he's doing Hasek impressions they have been), but to be honest he rarely says anything groundbreaking or that we haven't expected to hear. Still, could be worth tuning in for.
- Vinny's lifetime deal is actually longer than the 9-year deal previously reported. It's actually for 11 years and $85-million. Actually, I'm a bit disappointed. Aren't lifetime sentences usually 25-years minimum?
If you're still smarting over the fact that Hockey Night in Canada has lost its theme song, perhaps you should go on YouTube and check out the variety of videos people have put together with new potential themes for the show. Some of them are pretty cracked out but I have to say this one is probably my favourite:
It's so hideously wrong it goes back to being unbelievably awesome again.
